The Mathematics, Civics and Sciences Education Center of Philadelphia, Inc.  (MCSEC) offers comprehensive educational services for youth, with a strong focus on preparing high school seniors for college, trade school, and financial aid completion. These programs were developed in response to counselor shortages, rising dropout rates, and the growing number of students graduating without post‑secondary plans—issues closely tied to community violence and limited access to guidance. MCSEC ensures students receive the individualized support needed to transition successfully into higher education or career pathways.

Services Include:

  • Personalized guidance on selecting colleges, universities, and trade schools.

  • Step‑by‑step support completing college, trade school, and financial aid applications.

  • Full assistance with financial aid packets.

  • Ongoing support throughout the application cycle for students and parents.

  • Complimentary breakfast, lunch, and a completion gift for participating seniors.

  • Free yellow bus transportation for participating schools.

  • Textbooks and computers provided to seniors when needed.

  • Classes for parents, grandparents, and foster parents on supporting children with reading, math, and writing at home.
